Choose Your Lane
Chaplain Harold Murphy
I was a hard partying man of the world until I met Jesus one
night at the Ephsians Five Ministry on the North side of Pittsburgh, that was April
10, 1977. For two years I was moving along with God and seeing many wonderful
things that God could do in my life and in the lives of others. Now I wish
I could say all was well with myself, but it wasn't I let my self slip back into
a worldly lifestyle. I got married and God blessed me with two wonderful
children. Things were not right though because God was not the center of our
lives. Many years went by and things got worse in my marriage because of the
worldly things I had done. Finally my marriage of 16 years ended in divorce. My
children were in full rebellion, I was drinking, happiness was nowhere in
sight. I met my second wife and we lived together for 6 years until we
finally got married in 2004. I was in full control of my life and it was a mess.
I had multiple heart attacks and some TIA's (small strokes). I was at the point of
self medication with alcohol. I drank just so I could sleep. I had a hard
time sleeping because I knew I was living in sin and was separated from my God.
Finally, it was all coming to a head. I knew I had to get things right with God
so I asked for His forgiveness and began to follow the path of righteousness
through Jesus my Savior and Redeemer. I prayed and God blessed me with a
Harley. I prayed again and He led me to Road Riders for Jesus. I am now the
Chapter 25 Chaplain. I am not perfect, I still make mistakes, but I am
Redeemed from sin being washed in the cleansing Blood of Jesus.
